Moonsongs Vol. 1, is the result of creating and releasing ambient music weekly. Cherry picked from an entire year of weekly releases, Driftwood’s Joe Kollar, calls his music “space folk”—ethereal and spacious, while rooted in the intimacy of folk music. However, this record features “space folk” without the folk. Written, recorded, and performed entirely by Joe in apartment attics, bedrooms, mini vans, river banks and snow storms between touring with Driftwood, the record slowly took shape much like the unfolding soundscape of the songs.
